Should I apply for the FFL 01 or 07?

    You still haven't attempted to answer my original question and thats okay because it's not your job to. So this process has been frustrating enough to have me seek the help of a paid FFL specialist. The advice I received from him is the same as that from over a dozen other 07's (with a combined 117 years experience) and the ATF agent. That's the advice I'll be taking. I'm willing to bet $100K.

      Actually I didn't because the correct answer was posted. If you assemble AR's to customer spec from component parts and then sell the customer the complete firearm, you need a Type 07 FFL or a Type 10 FFL - but I suspect you don't want to mess around with destructive devices.
