Thumbprint not required by the seller. Most FFL's ask for it, but it is not required. The seller would have to give it if the dros was kicked back if the buyer was inelegable, and the gun was to be returned to the seller after their background check.

While some might claim otherwise, the actual answer is no. It should be allowed, but every firearm transaction has to be reported. Any number of non-handguns which are part of a single sale, loan or transfer are a single firearm transaction. This means that a long gun and a handgun are both firearm transactions and both have to be reported on a separate DROS.
