I'm on the phone with them now and they won't give me a straight answer. LOL. I should have known better. One of my co-workers purchased an HK there and said he would never do business with them again. I totally feel the same now.

this sub forum does not get enough traffic, i think, to really get a response from VA. only way would be to post it in the general discussion forum.

Sorry to hear that happened, I always go 31-days before buying my next toy! It will all work out in the end!

The employee I spoke with was told by management to perform manual DROS only, meaning fill out the necessary paperwork but NOT enter/submit anything to the DOJ via their computer system. Nine days later, that same employee was then told to enter all of the DROS in the computer system and submit the information to the DOJ. More than 30 customers were called; me included, were told we had to wait an additional 10 days. Oh well...nothing I can do now but wait. However, I did want to be sure that all of my fellow Calgunners were aware of the BS at Val....Arms Milpitas.

Do you remember the name of the employee?

Yes, but I don't want to implicate him. He basically said he was a grunt and was doing what he was told.

Either they could not submit the DROS, or there was a money issue and they wanted to delay the DROS so that they could delay payment. I am not sure if the CA DOJ would tell you if they dropped off the list and could not submit the DROS.

I don't think it is illegal to do that, but it is also not right. They should inform people in advance if there is an issue. They are required to give you a copy of the DROS, if you ask, so always do that.

I have no idea why a gun shop wouldn't want to start DROS right then and there. It would be interesting if you demanded they start your DROS so you could receive a copy even if they said they will start it later in the day. If they still refused, walk out right then and there.

The only "want" reason I can think of is if they are short of money and want to delay the bill for the DROS. Other than that, I would suspect it is not being able to submit it for some reason.

I would have an issue if they did not explain why they could not submit the DROS right then and there. There can be valid reasons, but if they try to hide it or lie about it, then it reflects poorly on the place.

They definitely lied and intentionally tried to hide it.
