If it is not a PPT, then there is no requirement.
So the receiving FFL would just send the gun back to the seller, no dros required?

I apologize for the threadjack, but when informed folks are around, I take the opportunity.

If the firearm was to be shipped back, it would have to be shipped to a FFL and transferred (DROS), but there is no requirement that the FFL ship it back. The buyer can request that it be sold, the FFL can charge storage or charge to ship it somewhere, etc.

Talked to a couple of FFLs in my area. They want right at $100. 00 to handle it...a $300 gun.
What this does is to make it almost impossible to sell a gun in California.
        A sad day for me.

IF the buyer is denied, a transfer has not occurred, it seems to me, so why does the gun have to be drosed back to the seller?

This will be my last nitpick.

Well, either take a long vacation or take a couple of vacations and do the transfer some place else. You don't have to do it where you live.

I did a transfer where the buyer drove down from the Bay area, started the paperwork, went to Vegas (I think) and then on his way back, stopped back and finished the paperwork and picked up the firearm.

If it was shipped to a FFL, how do you think that the person can just get it back?

Because it is his? I dunno. I know that my FFL will receive firearms for transfer to me from individuals because he is 99% sure I will qualify, and still worries about the 1%.

I didn't buy fireworks on the 4th of July, if I want fireworks I'll call my ex-wife.

It's not the law, so, maybe you should look for another FFL. Gunbroker has a zip coded list:

Can you be more clear about how your policy helps keep your doors open? What kind of problems has your policy stopped?

I do believe this was Penal Code. Ken do you remember which code it was? I do remember I changed my mind about it after you pointed it out. Any gun sent to me for sale will need to be returned to a dealer. Actually, maybe it was Federal law. I forget.

Perfect response. And then let the other FFL know he lost your transfer business and probably the rest of your business as well.
