    FFL problems.

I've sold a revolver, a "Charter Arms Bulldog Pug" 44 Special. The FFL in the buyers area says this particular gun has to be sent to him by a person with a FFL.
    Does this make sense?
This one model must be handled by a FFL...I can't ship it myself? Why?
I'll look forward to your comments.

Are you sure they said that particular gun? Most FFL's will only accept ANY gun from another FFL.

"particular gun" in this instance probably means "I don't accept individual (non-licensee) shipments from CA".

This gun's being shipped to Central California.
FFLS making up rules off the tops of their heads is worse than the state legislature making anti 2A LAWS.

Wonder if he accepts long guns from individuals.

If that's the case, then you're dealing with a real gem.

Most FFLs?...BS. Most FFLs will, of course, accept a firearm from any body!
            I know they're not all A Hs.
I've sent several handguns to FFLs in this state...no problem.

A FFL can choose to only receive firearms from another FFL, but they need to be honest and say that is their requirement and not falsely claim that there is some sort of law which requires it.

I have not heard of any law or requirement that demands that any firearm, other than a so-called a-salt weapon, be shipped from a FFL.

I don't see how this is "*******" behavior. We would just prefer to be able to stay open.

I accepted guns from people when we first opened. Caused nothing but problems. I know most stores in the area will not because of this.

If a buyer is denied, after receiving a gun from an individual, what is required for the FFL to return it to the seller?

I just got off the phone with the guy that won't accept the gun. He insists that California state law says he can't accept a gun except from another FFL.
                    Complete stupidity.
If FedEx will ship it...why wont this guy accept it?

If it is a PPT, then the FFL is required to return it to the seller or turn it over to the police.

If it is not a PPT, then there is no requirement.

Ask what the specific law is. Most likely he can't come up with it. If it comes from a FFL, then the CFLC letter is required, but not from non-FFLs.

There is no such law and the FFL can ask the CA DOJ about it. Most likely it is just that it is easier to get it from a FFL (other than the CFLC letter).

Post who the place is and I am sure that there will be those who will inform the FFL that they are wrong :-).

Well... gonna have to ship it to an FFL in seller's area and they can deal with the issue.

Shipping costs etc would have to be worked-out and that's it... yes...?
