Credit card processing - Don't use Square if you're an FFL

    Just got this from Square:

    Hello,

It was noted the business associated with your Square account, EBR Works, is in violation of our Square User Agreement (Section 1.6). Square do not accept transactions in connection with internet/mail order/telephone order firearm or weapon sales. As such, Square has decided to de-activate your account. We released any held payments and will initiate a deposit to your bank account within one business day. Deposit to your bank account normally register within 1-2 business days. Future transactions with us, however, will not process. This is a final decision. Thanks.
    My response:

None of my orders were mail order or phone sales. They were all face to face. Doesn’t matter. I will never use you for any purpose again and I WILL spread the word. This is a final decision! You lose.
I already signed up with NRA Payment Alliance since their discount rates are excellent (much cheaper than Square) and they have a plug-in for Quickbooks.

    See ya Square.....

Thanks for the information. I will look into changing my credit card transaction service provider. I didn't like the $1000 weekly limit on Square anyway.

Some people just don't get it...they let personal agendas guide their business decisions. Bad business sense...their loss.

Well that sucks. I had been using them with my iphone for ammo sales at a remote training facility.

We use First National Bank of Omaha at the shop (an NRA affiliate) but I don't think they have a mobile solution like square.

Really? I'm disappointed, I had high hopes for Square in local commerce.
