Information needed on a current 01 FFL becoming a 07 FFL

nope, the common consensus is that even to do a single-shot LCP that you have to be an 07FFL. look at the FFLS currently doing those single-shot conversions, all 07FFLs.

if that is the case, why is the single-shot conversion operation limited to 07FFLs?

Modification with intent to resell = manufacturing.

When I first got my FFL - I wanted to be a dealer. I asked ATF and I quote "If I do a buy on a Glock 19, and since I'm an armorer, I'd like to replace the 10 year old night sights, I can do that and resell the gun right?"

"No."

If it is MY gun - I need manufacturer license.
If it is customer's gun - It is GUNSMITHING and an 01 dealer is fine.

So I became an 07. It's easier this way. It's more expensive but easier.

Some more questions, does adding a bullet button constitute manufacturing? Also since an 07 who converts a pistol to single shot configuration for resale is now manufacturing, does that pistol now need to be engraved with the shops name and location?

Only think I found on manufacturing and serialization was between manufacturer here. Can't find anything about manufacturing on behalf of a customer.
