DROS for MUZZLELOADER??????

    DROS for MUZZLELOADER??????

    has anyone ever heard of ffl making you do dros for Savage 10 ML-I & II Muzzleloaders?

    The only time I can think is if it was readily convertible to cartridges.

      Yep...you're basically at the mercy of the dictionary...and the comfort factor of the FFL. "Readily" convertible can mean almost anything...so if I can pay someone some money and they can make my muzzleloader accept a cartridge...then you're going to have to DROS. Since they were designed to withstand modern smokeless powder...it's harder to argue it can't be converted.

        The Savage 10 ML is actually listed by ATF as one of the muzzle loaders that is too close to being a cartridge firearm to be considered an antique. Well, the "early, first version" is listed, whatever that means.
