The Glock 17 simply says, "17" on the slide. It clearly is listed as a Glock 17.

The Glock 17 Gen4 says, "17 Gen4" on the slide. It is clearly not on the list.

If I were a dealer, and I am, I would not sell a standard Glock Gen4 to anyone other than law enforcement or intrafamlial transfer. You can turn it into a single shot pistol and then sell it.

Sorry, the Gen4 is a pretty clear case of not being on the roster. I think you would lose that one if you based your lawsuit on that it wasn't on there. Throw in the fact that a lot of Glock literature and wholesalers clearly tell people they are not on the list.

Here is to the list just plain going away in our lifetimes!

I'm with 10%, the P250 says two tone, but you can't get one. I sold the two that I had to LEO's (they were not two tone). DOJ list just needs to go.....

Gun Control is like treating the symptom, not the disease. Gun laws only restrict people who obey the law.

So you're concern is what the slide says? So why not put a gen 3 slide on the gun and DROS it then swap out the Gen 3 slide for a Gen 4 slide after the customer picks it up. That's pretty similar to the single shot mod everyone is OK with.

You could do the same thing with the sig P250 you're discussing in this thread

If you could get the sending party to do that you could probably get away with it...extra slides aren't usually laying around to do this though...and you'd find it difficult to find a licensee willing to enter into a conspiracy with you.

The reason that no one has seen a ca compliant P250 compact two-tone is because Sig scraped the CA compliant version for the time being. As far as DROSing the current version out there, it is a big no no because there is a distinction between the one sent in for drop testing and the one not, it's the mag disconnect, same as with the Kahr P380. As of 2007 having a mag disconnect and a loaded chamber indicator in every new handgun was added to the already long list of prerequisites in the drop test.

In the end, if you really want one and can talk a shady dealer out there to get it for you, just remember, if it comes to light it will just be more fuel for the anti-gun crowd up in sacramento.

How about legally challenging the CA roster itself instead of coming up with ways to cheat and break the law while doing nothing to better things for gun owners.

If a Gen3 slide was on a Gen4 gun and a dealer didn't know the difference, they could honestly DROS it. If the DOJ could prove you knew the difference, then they might have a case. Otherwise you have a case that the list is confusing and difficult to read.

Where does it say it must have a magazine disconnect and a loaded chamber indicator?

              P250 Compact (Two-Tone) / Stainless Steel, Polymer Pistol 3.9" 9mm 12/30/2011
It doesn't. Where does it say when this particular gun was added to the list? It doesn't.

So it could be grandfathered in so it does not need a magazine disconnect nor a loaded chamber indicator.

I don't know a thing about Sigs. So if I see a two tone Sig P250 compact with 3.9" barrel in 9mm, I am going to DROS it. I don't care if it really exists, has a disconnect, or anything else. It is either on that list or it isn't.
