    nope, you don't need the COE to receive 50+ year-old long guns directly to your house from anybody other than a CA dealer.

    yes, the COE (along with the C&R) allows you to to cash-and-carry all C&R firearms, hanguns and long guns, even those that are listed C&R and not 50-years old. You have to DROS it, but can cash-and-carry immediatety afterwards. And yes, you are exempt from the 1-handgun-a-month law for all handgun transfers, C&R and Modern. And in 2011, it will exempt you from the hangun ammo mail order ban as well.

    But it isn't needed to receive 50+ year-old C&R long guns.
