It varies. For those that do DROS's later in the day they can give you a better idea. The last half of the DROS number is the # of background checks in the day. It doesn't include multi-long gun purchases nor does it keep track of any cancel/re-runs, but it can be fairly accurate.

I'd say 1500 is a good average. On weekends the number is higher, on weekdays a little lower I'd guess.

If you are buying a cheap gun, say $100, then the fees really are a huge percentage of the cost.

Then, consider that if you do two handguns (assuming that you are exempt from the 1 gun per 30 days), the cost only drops $4.

You should also be able to transfer any number of long guns at the same time as a handgun (some say you can, but this is questionable, at best and the DOJ says no and it appears to be no by the PC as well). This means that the "additional" background check is just pure profit, which is not what this is supposed to be about.

I would agree with the around 1500 DROS per day. I have to wonder how much the state gets out of that though. Remember, there is a middleman making a profit on this.

Seems to me two Constitutional Guarantees are being violated by the state.

The right to bear arms and the right of gun shops to make a living.
If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.
