Second dros for a new gun service?

Dear FFL community, I bought a new mossberg 590 shockwave spx from a local dealer and took it home yesterday. But once I unboxed it, the safety on the gun is just stuck and for the life of me I can't get it to move. I've owned a 930 jmpro before never had this jssue. Called mosseberg and they said in CA we have to do it through FFL for service, understandable. But when I spoke to the local shop, I was told they will help me return to mossberg but once serviced, I will need to dros it again and wait 10 days even if it's my own gun.

This true?

No. As long as it's the same SN#

They log it in as gunsmithing / log it out to MB ship it / receive it for MB log it in / hand it back to you log it out

Now they may charge a fee and cost of shipping

FUD! Find a new FFL! Gunsmithing is expressly listed as an exemption from a background check in order to deliver the gun back to owner.

Your FFL took it in for gunsmithing, they couldn't fix it, they sub contracted out to mossberg, mossberg fixed it and returned it to your gunsmith/FFL, he logs it out of gunsmithing back to you.

Send it yourself and they will return to you. Wrap the factory box take to pod=st office and mail or see if you can get a label direct from mossberg are you incapable of wrapping and addressing package?

I can wrap it up but don't have a FFL license. Mossberg said for CA I need a FFL

I wouldn't even waste my time or money shipping it. I would simply figure out the issue and fix it myself or have a local smith fix it for less than the shipping and headache.

BTW, please out the FFL that doesn't know WTF he/she is doing and, stop using him/her period.

You can't do that anymore. UPS and Fed Ex aren't allowing customers to send guns anymore. Thats why Mossberg is sending a return lable to the FFL.

You can ship long guns usps. I said post office not ups or fedex.

Lokeys Morgan hill. Guy tells me the lady that audits him wants it recorded every time he accepts or gives out a firearm which is true I think. But he will have to dros me and wait 10 days

USPS still allows non FFLs to ship long guns.
