UT CCW - no need for FSC?

Does a valid/unexpired out-of-state CCW remove the need to obtain a FSC?
Name and address match CDL real ID.
    Thank you.

No, only CA CCW would exempt you from FSC.
If a long gun, you can take hunter’s ed.

      Penal Code section 31700 says:
      (a) The following persons, properly identified, are exempted from the firearm safety certificate requirement in subdivision (a) of Section 31615:

      (9) Any individual who has a valid concealed weapons permit issued pursuant to Chapter 4 (commencing with Section 26150) of Division 5.

So that means a CCW issued pursuant to California law. So only a California CCW; no out-of-state CCWs will substitute for FSC.

Planning to purchase a handgun, so hunter safety won’t substitute.
Thanks. Since I have no other possible exemptions, it seems I’ll need to pay for a FSC.

Why not get a CA CCW? You live in a county that issues.

          Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Good luck on the test. It's now at the 4th grade level and more folks aren't passing.

Seriously, your options are limited. Sounds like you just need to pay the tax and get the FSC.
