Any FFLs w/an importation permit or knowledge?

There is a dealer in Canada with several Beretta & Breda stripped Garand receivers. Not only are these collectible, they are inexpensive & I would like to purchase a few to build a competition Garand. Anyone familiar with the process required to import firearms from Canada?

By the time you get them here, they may the most expensive frames you have ever bought.

Also, the law requires the importer to apply import markings to them, which will reduce their "collectible" value considerably I would imagine.

    These folks are efficient.

FIREARMS (MODERN: manufactured 1899 or later)
$299 for the first gun, + $199 for each additional gun on the same shipment.
+ 5% of the total value of imported merchandise [2% on portion above $5k]
For 5+ guns, contact Borderview for a custom quote.
ATF requires Import Markings to be placed on imported firearms (excluding antiques manufactured before 1899). Required markings include at least our Name, City and State as the importer, and other markings if not already present on the gun (i.e. caliber, model designation if any, country of manufacture, serial number and manufacturer name). As ATF has approved our name to be abbreviated to “BV”, the basic marking is “BV LYNDEN, WA”. We can often work with you to determine the best allowable spot to put required markings, which must be visible on the gun, but can be very small (1/16″ letter height, 0.003″ minimum depth). Only the serial number is required to be on the frame or receiver; other required markings can be visible on the barrel (or slide, in the case of a pistol).

You need to add shipping to their Canada facility, then add shipping from their US facility to your FFL, and add DROS and transfer fees plus your FFL will very likely add sales tax to the price you paid for them.

And don't for get the exchange rate. The US dollar is worth 0.79 in Canada.

There is also a prohibition against importing ex military arms from Canada.

Otherwise there would be tons of SVT-40, SKS as well as many others imported into tje US from Canada.
        Poke'm with a stick!

Please cite the chapter and verse that prohibits the importation of a "Garand" action into the US , assuming all the requisite permits and licenses are in place.

            Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Your best option is t contact a company like this

I am not endorsing them but using them as an example. The biggest hurdle I had when I imported firearms from Canada was on he Canada side getting them through to the US. Companies like above usually have an office on both sides which makes it easier. My form 6's told about 4 months but that was a couple years ago. The military weapon question can be answered here
