    Let me cancel it and get a new one...

    LOL story of the day.

    Customer comes in to look for a handgun. We show him one he wants to buy. We start the paperwork and he sees the 1-in-30 sign. Tells us that he needs to to back to another dealer to cancel his previous DROS before completing this one.

    Why does he want to cancel the other one? It's DELAYED and he doesn't want to wait, so figures he'll just do a new one.

    After further discussion, it turns out he has a DUI on his record but thinks it's cleared. My guess is that is what is causing the delay so I tell him to wait for resolution of that DROS because cancelling and starting a new one probably also will result in a delay.

    ...and he'll go somewhere else, see a gun he likes, call you to cancel that DROS, etc., etc., etc...

    Some customers can be entertaining, for sure.

      At least he didn't tell you he thought his felony in another state from 30 years ago wouldn't matter :P.. I got that once...fortunately, before they started any paperwork, but they did have to arrange to have the firearm shipped back from wherever they purchased it from.

            Whatever dude I've worked in industry and been around it my whole life just because I don't have a FFL in my name doesn't mean I don't know anything. I know FFL's that don't mind the restocking fees in some circumstances.

            You seem to have some sort of personal vendetta against me it's actually sort of cute.

                Please point out all these examples where I'm so wrong. You just have a agenda or an axe to grind. I actually have PM's from people saying what a joke you are BTW.

                        I don't care what you say but you are amusing! You constantly lash out at me how my posts mean 0 and you are all high and mighty be all end all of FFL knowledge yet you don't back up your claims about how wrong I always am.

                        You don't know or speak for every FFL in CA how do you know that all of them don't like doing restocking fees? Turner's does them and they seem to be successful and thriving I'm sure they know what they are doing with that policy.

                              Restocking fees do create angry customers. Better to tell the customer up front. If we dros this and you are denied/delayed and it is undeliverable I will charge you for my time. If you are ok with that so am I. We had one bag area gentleman call us asking if we would release a handgun if he got delayed. He said he had been calling shops all day and no one would do it. Be wanted a definite answer. We told him no. Some customers just want to get over on people. They know they have a background issue..
