Business licenses come from the city or county and allow you to run a business. A resale license comes from the state and is what you need to collect and pay sales tax.

The former has an annual fee usually based on gross revenue. The latter should be free.

we don't have DROS in Nevada. just background checks.
so, regarding your statement that CLEO decides what kind of business licence..so do i have to call his office or take the application to him (personally)?

I started my business our of my Garage as a 07. The storefront requirement is a city thing not a fed thing.

EDITED: Since your FFL is not for local sales, you do NOT need a special business license. The below really are just a courtesy heads up since CLEO and planning will be contacted by the ATF. Best not to surprise them.

Your CLEO most likely has someone in charge of firearms in their agency. Call and ask to speak to that person. Locally, we get interviewed and background checked by the agency.

Make a call to your local planning department to get on their radar as well. Again, there isn’t a lot they need to do. Mine wrote me an email that states since I am not retail, they have no jurisdiction over my ATF license.
