How do I get my Ammunition Vendor License

Since ammo requires BGC's you'll basically be a gun shop so, start with an FFL and the process to open a gun shop. Actually, start with a half a million dollars so you can open an FFL operation of any kind. Then, also sell ammo. Then, don't sell anything but ammo. Viola, ammo vendor. -
The application is pretty straight forward. It's BOF form 1021. You will need the following licenses or permits. A local business license, California sellers permit, CA Certificate of Eligibility. A FFL is not needed, but I have an 03 FFL. The DOJ is very stringent on keep the above from expiring. The hardest part I found was locating and meeting the wholesalers min ammo either monthly or yearly amounts. Pretty high amounts. So I use my AV license to transfer ammo via the DES ammo background check system. Certainly not going to get rich doing transfers! Hope this helps.Comment
