Sure enough it was a non-exempt dealer transfer. I wouldn't sweat it. It says Glock 19, you bought a Glock 19. That listing in the drop down is used for G1 through G3, not sure why it couldn't also stand in for G4 or G5 other than the roster exemption issue.

When you go to sell it next, it will be done correctly as G19 G5 and the serial number will be the same, showing that you didn't illegally import a different gun in the interim.

You legally own the gun, you did a legal roster-exempt transfer, the gun is listed in AFS to you, you did nothing wrong. The dealer screwed up not you. I would not go through a PPT again to reacquire this, but that's just me. I'm not sure it would correct anything of material substance that would affect you or your ownership. The only one who has anything to lose here is the dealer IMO, and it sounds like they don't care.

You could submit a volreg form online to correct the record if you wanted and explain everything there. It would cost you $19. But they may not process it because the serial is already shown as being in your possession.

That dealer has other problems anyway... He must be new or not give a crap because during audit time he will learn that there is no "Glock Brand" OEM Lock that is on the DOJ Roster of locks.

Glock typically uses DAC or Regal and if it was a PPT maybe the seller put a different one, but there's no OEM Glock lock.

As SkyHawk mentioned though, there's really nothing that you would be fixing doing the paperwork again. From an LEO standpoint if they run it the Glock and SN is mainly what they'll look at. The slide markings really have no relevance since you can just as easily put an aftermarket slide on your firearm.

Good news for the seller though..looks like that didn't count as 1 of their 5 PPTs for the year

When the dealer gets audited, if this comes up will the buyer be visited? I seem to remember a case where a dealer was caught selling many off-roster's and his customers had to forfeit their firearms. OTOH, this is a mistake.

I think the only way this gets caught at audit is if DOJ somehow verifies every serial number on every DROS this dealer has done with Glock to see if any were not G1-G3.

Because as it stands right now, the DROS looks fine unless you know the serial number belongs to a G5.

The closest I can remember to something like this up here was from a customer that came in and said I had to re-DROS a firearm to them per a message from CA DOJ due to some shenanigans from the previous FFL. However, it wasn't an off-roster pistol, it was a C&R so there was no issue doing that.

The only other item I remembered was a dealer in santa clara getting busted because they transferred a boatload of SSEs to themselves just as the law changed to what it currently is.. then the following January they were doing a whole lot of PPTs. I'm not sure what happened to the customers receiving the firearms though. I think if they all got caught up in something there will be a thread here in the archives somewhere
