However, If you are certain your DMV mailing address is correct, simply pay for a duplicate DL "online".
I recently moved and needed my Real ID/DL to match my current address. I was turned away when I arrived at the DMV in person also thinking I needed to resubmit my real ID documents for another DL. I was told to request a duplicate online. It arrived extremely fast for DMV (~1.5wks).

Why couldn't one do it as a intrastate transfer? Basically send the firearm to the FFL and then the FFL would log it appropriately using what info the seller provides to log it in, in this instance the passport, then do the DROS like a normal dealer sale. Since it wouldn't be a PPT typical dealer fees would apply. But it would be a way to sell that firearm.

I have actually tried that but for some reason, the site will not take payments. DMV says their tech people are working on it...
