    Any FFL doing AOW transfer?

Hello, I have a pistol which i wish to add a VFG. I know OC Armory is closing shop this month and will no longer do transfers. Does anyone have a lead in SFV, LA city or LA county/ Ventura County which will do AOW transfers so I can add a VFG to my pistol? Thanks

Of as you probably know if the pistol is over 26” it won’t be an AOW.
Or submit form 1, pay $200 then put on forward grip.
If you can find FFL/SOT to make it for you make sure it doesn’t have to be DROS’ed back to you, as you won’t be able to do that if it is an AW

my understanding is you can do a form 1 with a 200 dollar tax stamp or have an FFL 07/SOT do a transfer.

my pistol is under 26." I was trying to avoid the $200 dollar stamp, and pay/opt for the $5 transfer. But it seems very difficult finding the right licensee.

You submit a Form 1 ($200 tax stamp) to make your already owned Title 1 Handgun into a Title 2 AOW.

If you submit the Form 1, you possess the firearm while BATFE processes your application. Once approved, you make your handgun into an AOW.

You submit a Form 4 ($5 tax stamp) to transfer an already made Title 2 AOW to you.

Before you submit the Form 4, the CA FFL/SOT will need to take possession and make it into an AOW (Form 2). They will then keep possession, until after you are approved. Once you are approved, they will then transfer (DROS, 10 day wait) the firearm back to you.
^You will need to pay the CA FFL/SOT the cost of making the handgun into an AOW, pay them for storing it, pay them to transfer it back to you, and pay CA DROS fees. (can be anywhere from $50-300 + DROS fees)

              He may not know that.

Wolf, like Jedediah mentioned if the pistol is over 26" it is considered a Title 1 Other, not to be confused with a Title 2 Any Other Weapon (AOW). As a Title 1 Other it can have a VFG without the need of paying $200 to convert to an AOW.

Here is Franklin Armory's XO-26. They have a letter from the ATF stating that no tax stamp is needed for it. Look around and you will find it.

              Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Thanks guys for the great knowledge! It appears the best way for me going forward is to submit a form 1 and $200
