I would also suggest chatting or emailing with the owner.

The FFL is a business and we want them to stay open!

If the FFL does things that result in 100 bad reviews, they might not stay open.

I get it- the dealer pays for a ton of partners, like any Business pays-
      Ca tax
      Fed tax
      Business license
      Insurance
      ATF fees
      Worker’s compensation
      Rent
      Utilities
      Etc

      — so we need for the FFL to stay open and they can’t if they go broke.

It stinks that you get to pay a $50 premium to them...

I’d take the time to reach out to the owner to see if they have an open ear for discussion.

If not, find an new FFL
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT
      (thanks to Jeff Cooper)

I love how some customers act like THEIR gun is the only one you were waiting for, THEIR gun is the only one you got in, THEIR gun is the most important thing you did all week! And they want to pay no fees and want you to call them the second the DROS clears! CLEAR YOUR CALENDAR!

I find it thoroughly understandable...maybe not reasonable, but understandable.

So you're saying that I shouldn't ship GunBroker wins using a huge box full of our confetti-shredded paper? Seriously, I ship like I want to receive -- minimum needed to protect the firearm.

My favorites are the used off-roster Glock and SIG police turn-ins just dropped into a box with no wrapping along with an invoice that shows a person's name and the total paid. No contact info, no breakdown. As you can imagine, these go back after about a week.

At least call the FFL with some dignity and patience. Too many guys calling and like "Fedex/USPS says they delivered my gun, I'm on my way now to pick it up. Its a Glock"..... We had 10 Glocks come in, whats your name and the serial number for your gun, and lets make an appointment for you. "That's not my problem, do you have my gun or not? I'm coming right this second to DROS it. Your Transfer fee is only $10 right?"
