DOJ Changing start time of DROS?

OK, I've been waiting to pick up my rifle from Ryenex and on this past Monday they tell me I've been cleared and we set up today to pick it up.

I get there and we start to do the paperwork. I quickly look at the start time and notice that it's a week after I was there to start the paperwork. The clerk says ooh yeah that's common for the DOJ to change the start time. It's so they can take longer to process it.

Have any of you FFL holders seen this?
    Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

I didn't think so. See what I get for being cheap. I should have sent it to you. Your sights should be there tomorrow.

If so, please document it and notify Michael and Associates. Franklin Armory might also want to pass that information on to their attorneys.

I personally think they didn't submit the paperwork for a week.

I know that some people at FFL's will play with your gun. At least they should put the bolt back in the bag when they're done.

What day did they tell you to pick it up on? Once the dealer enters the DROS in, it is then time and date stamped. Check your original paperwork that they gave you.

sounds like the FFL did something fishy.

It was late when the store was closing. He said hey you can go ahead and go home and we'll enter right now.

I've done it similar at a local range and didn't think anything about it. I think they just didn't enter it and found it a week later and said ooh carp and entered it. It just sucks that they would not come clean with it.

Damn, the FFL forgot to submit your DROS? That sucks.

10 days is bad enough, but adding those extra days on top of the wait ...

The dealer must have forgot then like you said. If you calculate the days, they made you wait an extra week and they weren't truthful to you. DOJ is behind, but the average this month has been 10-14 days for approval. With what the dealer told you, it took approximately 20 days for you to pick up your gun.

Look at your dros paper work, the date/time stamp it was entered can't be changed once a dealer enters it in. Unless they cancel it and re-enters it.

                      Did you pay electronically? CC/debit?

And yeah, I agree that the “clerk” forgot about it. But for a week?!?!

I know the DOJ likes to drag their feet, but I’m pretty sure that changing information on official public documents after the fact is a no-no.

                      BTW, that sucks, OP.

Something similar happened to me. On May 23rd, I paid and filled out DROS for a rifle that was in stock but at a different store. I was told they'd process DROS as soon as the rifle arrives. I was told the rifle arrived on June 1st. I called on the 9th to ask about my submission date and time for DROS. I was told it was submitted on the June 8th. I called on June 19th and was told it was submitted on June 17th at 2:54pm. At this point I was furious and didn't know who was telling the truth. I went down to Turners and requested a DROS print out and sure enough it was submitted on the 17th! The reason I didnt go down sooner was because they had appointments only and you don't expect management to lie about your DROS submission date.

Yeah that seems like the FFL not submitting your paperwork.

Did you get a DROS document when you bought it showing the first pickup date?

Per post #9 from OP, doesn't sound like he did get that document. I always make sure to get mine, and insist if I have to.
