Intrafamilial Transfer Delays

I have a CFARS account.

Recently my son, who turned 21, acquired his FSC and I want to transfer a handgun to him. We both live in Calif.

Can my CFARS account be used for an intrafamilial transfer with his info or does he have to open his own account?

Couldn't find any info on CFARS page(s)

Receiver is supposed to file, so in this case, he needs his own account.

My wife recently did an intrafamily xfer from her father. My wife has a CFARS account she did the transfer through her account. The CADOJ confirmation letter came through last week (about 6 weeks after filing on CFARS). Much faster than any of my C&R transfers which take them about 5 months to process.
