Never done one of these before. Have a customer wanting a Private Party to ship ammo he has reloaded to his friend and go through me. Since the seller would not be here to do the transfer, I assume I would buy it, place in my inventory, and sell it to the buyer. Not sure if I want to go that route due to the possible liabilities (non-factory ammo) since I am selling from my inventory and should anything go wrong it will come back on me. Thoughts on how to do this without the liability?

Canucky - I would like to do this as a transfer, but as I understand it, just like firearm PPT, both the buyer and seller would need to be present. Can anyone confirm this? The DES system actually does not have a section for the seller. See attached screenshot.Attached FilesComment

Non-licensed reloads are illegal to sell whether private or commercial. Now, one private party giving for free to another private party thru a FFL....I do not know. And most likely wasn’t addressed by our new Ammo laws. But for sure non- licensed reloads are illegal to sellLast edited by jmpgnr24k; 04-01-2020, 8:53 PM.Create a law that says gun control only applies to criminals.Comment

Would you mind citing the particular CA code that prohibits the selling of reloaded ammo?American soldier by choice. Made in America by the Grace of God.
So, now it is ironic that the State whittles away at the right of its citizens to defend themselves from the possible oppression of their State.

I honestly don’t know the particular code. Though I’m sure it’s searchable. Would you mind looking it up? It’ll enlighten us all. I might even be wrong but because the OP is doing this retail it’s best to err on the side of caution. Selling ammo as a business requires an FFL and selling reloaded ammo without liability insurance is not smart.Create a law that says gun control only applies to criminals.Comment

I would think that it would be just like having a firearm transferred in from a private party. You would have no part in any money aspects. Not sure about the transfer aspect, but asking the DOJ might give some idea or a completely wrong answer :-).Kemasa.

This demand evidence reloader is properly licensed or no go. It doesn't matter if you get a waiver from buyer that he knows it's reloaded if something happens you will be named in the suit.
