    I think so.

The main thing is to keep things long enough and not get rid of it too soon.

It gets confusing. It would be nice if it was all the same.

When you release a gun we are supposed to keep the ammo purchase with the DROS paperwork since it was allowed under the gun background check. That means we need to keep that DROS pack for 5 yrs since the ammo is attached to the transaction.

If you separate the ammo purchase, there is no corresponding docs to show which background check approved the ammo acquisition.

      Am I missing something?

They didn't mention that during the webinar. They just said to keep all the ammo DROS docs separate. There's no indication on the ammo DROS which background check it is associated to (firearm vs standalone). The documents look exactly the same to me.

I guess ammo deliveries with a firearm could be stapled and retained and stored with the 5 year bunch but it’s one more freaking piece of paper and ink

I think in the webinar they said you only have to keep the ammunition sale sheet. The others don't matter since the info is duplicated and the ammo sheet has the "Eligibility Check DROS Number" on it which is either the ammo DROS or firearm DROS # depending how released.

One of the questions came up if the person was denied what if they don't want to sign it.. they said you can't force them. I guess some of the attendees had customers that got pissed off and walked out of the store..

Ok, that makes sense. We will start doing that then. I missed the webinar and went off the written stuff and did what I thought was logical which never works with DOJ LOL

We initially were keeping everything and were happy we could save paper...
