      Instead of a grip fin, why not go the butterfly/spade grip (bipod/tripod/mounted) or chainsaw grip (two handed) route?




      M249 with chainsaw grip would be a (Federal) Title 1 Other and with 16" barrel length be a (CA) "long gun" that is not a "rifle".

      ^Even if this was DROS'd as a "rifle", it would be considered a featureless semi-auto rifle since it does not have any restricted features.

          Hypothetically if you had an M249 long gun receiver, (Receiver only) how could you set it up other than "Featureless" with a fin grip or with some type of spade grip.

          - It would have a 16" Barrel (So it would be a long gun)
          - No mag lock device/belt-fed only.
          - Pistol Brace or buffer tube only?
          - Vertical grip or handstop?

          What are the options? It would be a Frankenstein gun for sure.
