I mean this guy is paying $1000 for a gen3 glock so long as the seller is at your table at a certain time to DROS?

I'm thinking here.... DES opens at 8am right? I can work for probably 4 hours before I need a 15 minute pee break, then another 4 our so to break for lunch/diner. Give me 30 minutes to eat and then work until 11pm?

      So 8:00-nooon 4 hours
      12:15-4:15- 4 hours
      4:15-8:15- 4 hours
      BREAK,
8:30-11:00 3.5 hours that's 15.5 hours of DROS time, I bet I can do 1 every 20 minutes so that's 3 an hour or roughly 46 guns per day, or 1380 in a month, allowing for internet lag, DES issues, and other unforeseen problems I think 1200 handguns to a single buyer in a month would be possible. My 20 minutes includes time for DROS entry, A&D Logging, Safety Demo, ETC... He would only need 1 4473 per day, and I can attach multiple sheets for the firearm info using Excel.
I think that you are a slacker.

You can prepare everything before the DES allows DROS to be submitted, sleep is for the weak. Bathroom breaks? Really? If you need to use the bathroom setup the computer in there or hold it or figure something else out since otherwise you might end up with an additional DROS fee and a customer complaint. You might want to invest in a feeding tube as well.

You should be able to submit more than 1 per 20 minutes. All can be signed after the DES shuts down. I would think a reasonable amount would be 5 minutes for each firearm. Also, there is no limit on just one person entering the DROS, so it could be ever faster, but again I would assume that 99,999 is the limit per day and there are going to be other FFLs submitting as well, so I doubt that you would get that many before it crashes.

A modification of the web browser should allow for much faster entry. I would assume that more than 99999 DROS per day might cause a slight problem. So the limit should be around 2,999,970 DROS submitted. If all are C&R and the buyer has a C&R FFL with COE, there would be no waiting period, which would make it faster.

I suspect that you would have some down time after 3-5 days or so when the CA DOJ comes and pays a visit to ask what is going on. Then again, the whole system might go down and not come back up.

On a more serious note, it got me thinking that there is an issue with multiple people submitting a DROS in terms of the DROS fee. If you had 100 firearms to transfer, in order to limit it to one DROS fee only one person can submit it even though all would be done at the same time since each person has to have their own account.

Oh, the hours seem to be 7am to 11pm, so again slacking by starting at 8am.

If you want to put up the money to buy the firearms and do the transfers, then perhaps we will have something, otherwise I will just let him go first and then concede :-).

The most consecutive handguns I've ever done was 20. They were pawn redemptions. I think it took me somewhere in the neighborhood of 30 minutes to do the DROS. Once the first gun is done and the customer checks their info you can really rip through the guns since that part is editable should you make a mistake.

In the marathon scenario I was accounting for multiple sellers. Where that would take more time, safety demos actually being completed correctly and customer(s) verifying each DROS submission since we said they would be PPTs. Never tried to DROS before 8. I know I did one about 8:10 am once and got a single digit DROS suffix.

I think that the most I have done is 17, as a PPT. Not much fun.

Personally, I think it would be cheaper for the person to move out of state.

I'm lovin' this thread.... Entertaining to say the least. Just PPT'd 4 handguns from the same seller, waited the 10 days, and no problems... I'm broke now!! :-) I also have one from out of state in the 10 day. Will now have to wait the 30 to buy another... unless it's a PPT... :-)
