Shipping a rifle.

Thanks all for the advice. Unfortunately both dealers that I use for PPT's said the same thing, in that they will only accept a shipped gun from another FFL1. I have a feeling that they are not unique. Shipped from a PP there are all sorts of issues that could possibily crop up. Phony ID and a Hot Gun scam are just a couple I can think of... So I'll continue to buy from local PP's, and do a face to face with a local dealer....

Shipping through an FFL doesn't prevent this. The sending FFL does not run a background check on the person shipping and does not run any checks on the firearm going through their books.
