Read, read, read and the read some more. Your an FFL, you don't sell guns you do paperwork.

Most of the questions you asked you should have already known the answers to or at least have an idea on how to complete them.

This is not a profession you want to be told answers to with no knowledge, you want to know it yourself or else it can be a real hard and steep learning curve. Asking for clarification is good and no one knows everything but every FFL is different.

^^This. When you think you read enough, you didn't, go read some more. Like Baboosh said, we are in the business in doing paperwork, guns are a small part of that.

This is far cheaper than making some mistakes. If you truly have that many questions his time will be worth your weight in gold.

When we had the ATF here they had a story about an audit they had at an FFL that had NO bound book

They said the ATF checklist did not mention it hence why now that checklist they give you list it lol.

I recall something from long ago, which I think has changed, that if you did a very limited number of transactions that you did not need to have a bound book. The problem is that people don't keep up with the requirements and there is a lot to know right from the start. There is also that people need to know to ask questions and that can be difficult.

Then there is the aspect of data retention when you keep the records on a computer. Backups and archives are critical, plus you should never trust a computer :-).
