Ok ppl just opening my ffl and asking what needs to b done in a sense of dros and forms who sign up with for vendors etc.

Are you asking how to run your business? I'm not 100% clear of the question or how the vendor part is different then the wholesaler list from your other thread.

Basically, sign up to vendors for products you will be selling. If you will do lots of accessories Gun Accessory Supply specializes in all the non-firearm stuff. Not always the cheapest, but may have what you need if you're not ordering enough from the bigger distributors.

Kinda ya running it like signing up for dros system do they give me computer or card swiper and vendors for debit card transactions and how to fill out dros properly for all diff transactions it's all new to me thanks

You have to buy all your own hardware the state gives you nothing.

As for taking CC the CC company will rent or sell you what works on "THEIR" system. Check with your bank they can steer you to someone. MAKE SURE the CO and BANK you go with is GUN FRIENDLY

As for filling out the FSC / DROS / 4473 / A&D logs and so on. If you have never worked in a gun store you are in for a rude awakening as being an FFL is all about doing the paperwork and doing it right. You are now basically a secretary for the STATE and FED's and they expect you to get EVERYTHING 100% correct.

There are several CC vendors you can use, but it doesn't hurt to start with your bank. Make sure they are aware you are a firearms company. Likewise, you may find that you have to change banks once they find out what your company does. As far as CC processors here are some options:

As far as how to run our company - have you ever run any company before? This is similar with the addition of the info ASD1 said.

It also sounds like you didn't/don't have a business plan. Also, to be clear, you already have your FFL and CA DOJ CL#, correct? Or are you in the middle of the application process?

If you have your CL# I believe they send you all the info you need to know to get logged into the DES system as well as the make/model of the mag stripe reader you will need.

Sounds like you started a business that you thought was going to be easy money and forgot about the one big thing, which is actually learning the business first.

Most of your questions could have been answered when you got that ATF visit, you know, when they ask are there any questions?

Not sure is ing or being serious. Maybe you can pay someone who has ran an FFL to come down and teach you the ropes for a month or two.

What your asking is not something people have the time for unless they are getting paid. I would start by reading all the ATF and DOJ material you can. Maybe contact a firearms attorney to make sure all your permits are in order before you start doing anything.

I am done with everything all licenses sent it all in now all I'm waiting for is cfd number as far as running business I done before so really just need know about paperwork dros and like taking cc

You have your FFL? Have you had your ATF inspection yet?
When did you send in for CFD? I have seen people wait a year for that to come back before they can start receiving and selling. In that time is everything else is in order you can sell parts to help cover rent.

Ok great thanks ya I gave everything I called state they said it will b about week or so before I get cfd so not to long and from what I hear the fsc is instant once u take the instructor course? It's all online noww

Well I'm trying to say is I know how run a business per say but I'm just seeing what I need in sense of forms I would need office supplies ffl supplies like thay before I should start taking transactions

Sorry, I was a little confused. I know most people that run businesses would have more specific question rather than generically "what vendors".

As for your office supplies - it depends how you run your business, how you file, how you do paperwork -- this is specific to your business

FFL supplies - depends how you run your business, do you already have all your required signage up? Do you even know what is required? Are you aware of how you're supposed to file your ATF paperwork (they told you during interview). Will you store ATF/DOJ stuff together / separate?

You've run a business before -- make a business decision based on how you intend to do your filing. I use file cabinets I got from Marshalls during their bankruptcy.. You may or may not need/want fire protection. In addition to all the standard items to file away for any business you have CA DOJ and ATF paperwork.

Read, read, read and the read some more. Your an FFL, you don't sell guns you do paperwork.

Most of the questions you asked you should have already known the answers to or at least have an idea on how to complete them.

This is not a profession you want to be told answers to with no knowledge, you want to know it yourself or else it can be a real hard and steep learning curve. Asking for clarification is good and no one knows everything but every FFL is different.
