So, he isn't our cosmic butler who exists to give us whatever we want. So, try not to come to Him with your list of demands. Come to Him as your Father and have a relationship with Him. Many times, if not most times His answers aren't immediate. Also, many times the answer is, "no". But we are still to be relational with Him. He wants the best for us as any father wants for his children, and He wants to take part in our lives. Prayer is how He chooses to conduct that relationship.
Is this a one sided conversation or do you hear God's voice in reply?

How shall I participate in a relationship when I am the only one talking?

I see the scripture quoted above Matthew 6:6-14, commanding that we pray the Lord's Prayer. Why pray in any manner other than that commanded?

Or is it "in this way"? Another way to put it is "in this manner". How is saying the Lords Prayer over and over not repetition?

OP, you know what your problem is? You're asking too many questions. It's easy to understand prayer.

Prayer is just talking to God. Forget about omnipotence and omniscience and all those big words. Don't think too much. We are but humble slaves servants who couldn't possibly comprehend the mind of our loving, heavenly master Father.

Praying is just like having a conversation with a friend. Except that you can't see your friend or hear him. You just have to have faith that he's there, and don't even think about going down the whole, "How do I know He's there" path, that's just the Devil trying to trick you.

One other thing about prayer. You don't tell Him what you want. He doesn't care what you want. You ask Him what He wants, and then just do whatever He tells you to do.

Bottom line is, if something good happens, you give God all the credit. If something bad happens, you take all the blame. Simple.

It is because of Jesus that we can have relationship with God. He bridged the gap between man and God by His cross.

As you read the Scripture with a receiving heart, God will certainly speak to you. I guarantee it.
                Well said.

God has provided a way for mankind, including you, to know Him. He hasn't forced Himself on you. While He desires for you to have relationship, He doesn't force it. We believe as Christians that all things work for our good. Nothing happens to us without it passing through Him; good or bad.

You have the choice to reject. Good luck with that decision.

Everybody gets what's coming. You only need to pray for good luck, and maybe in silence, and away from all the noise in your life, you might hear his guidance.

"what's coming" = a chain of events. Nothing can stop those. You can start one though.

The world is always dark and tilted. If not at your present location somewhere else. I did notice you used past tense. The assumption would be the world righted itself.

all is good with my world now. precepts, sobriety and the 4 noble truths brightened everything up. and by tilted i meant nothing seemed right. its hard to explain, but you always have a feeling things are wrong, out of place or does not fit.
