That is a very pithy and accurate summary of many threads on this forum, but I disagree. In their response to Prager, they clearly stated "Academic exercises are the purview of wealthy societies. And Dennis Prager is obviously a big fan of them. He is most interesting when he discusses the intersection of religious philosophy and morality with everyday life, but here he misses the forest for the trees."

That is a perceptive response, and they clearly got the gist of his piece, and responded in a wise way. A good definition for wisdom-- courtesy of Tim Keller-- is competence in dealing with the complex realities of life. Ace of Spades explicitly stated "Granting the legitimacy of the moral question, it is of very little practical value..."

Their response is no more of a non sequitur than Jesus' response to the Sadducees in recorded in Matthew 22.

Though I think it is entirely fair to characterize Prager as having a zeal for God, just not in accordance with knowledge, as stated upthread, he does have many views I would agree with, such as the Biblical perspective on whether humanity is basically good or basically bad. More to it, since he clearly believes that people are basically bad, as do I, as the Bible teaches, is does seem a bit curious that he doesn't use the piece in the OP to underline that point more forcefully.

He has not responded to Ace of Spades that I am aware; his most recent column sort of parallels his last one, linked in the OP, in that it encourages American Jews to consider the lessons of history more carefully.

The Morning Rant's point is that if Jews armed themselves then thinking about who would hide them becomes a moot point. What a flippant comment to Praeger's contemplation.

      Two totally different objectives.
      You're oversimplifying Prager's point.

Like it or not, the covenant that God made with Abraham-- "I will bless those who bless you, and curse those who curse you..."-- is unconditional, and still applies. The Bible is entirely clear, God is not done with the Jews.

Just like flattery and the imprecatory prayers in the Psalms-- both of which can reveal heart posture in a person's heart-of-hearts-- anti-semitism is a tell which reveals a heart posture that needs repentance. Like the old bromide says, "know Jesus, know change; no Jesus, no change."

Rubbish. The Old Testament is a completely Jewish book and the power of Judaism has expanded 1000x since the crucifixion. And done so in the complete contradiction to everything Jesus said. So what would Jesus say about them today?

How do you come to that conclusion regarding "the power of Judaism"? Give some concrete examples that support your assertion.

Again, can you give a at least two examples of things which contradict "everything that Jesus said"?

Jews are great. Gods chosen people. Hitler thought other wise. Old Adolf believed Jews responsible for the division of Germanic peoples. The insuing holocaust was a inhumanity.

The Nazis didn't invade Switzerland because Swiss companies produced armaments for Hitler’s war economy. More importantly, Switzerland held their cash, gold...it was their neutral bank.

Not siding with or against anyone here.....but i do know when cash is involved, morality and ethics generally go down the drain.

i would hide brad, but i wouldn't hide adam schiff.
who i would choose to protect has nothing to do with race or religion.

The Swiss skillfully and discreetly played both sides. Maybe a movie analogy which could serve here would be Clint Eastwood's character in Fistfull of Dollars. Even so, the fact that a large proportion of their population (the males) had weapons and ammunition at home where it could be deployed rapidly to resist invaders was certainly part of the German calculus. It helped to skew the costs vs. benefits analysis in favor of leaving them alone, at least while the Germans dealt with more pressing issues.

At least we now know that you would tell Nazis where Jews are hiding.
