Lent. I gave up formal church services and donating time to keeping the buildings and grounds functional - oh oops. Nope, I got dismissed and told I’d be arrested or fined if I went to my church of 31 years during the covid outbreak. Mmm. Yup, the church gave me up last Lent. This Lent - I donate to the homeless and help the disadvantaged wildlife.

even though i don't consider myself a practicing catholic, or even religious anymore, i do observe lent (no meat on fridays).
of course, it doesn't hurt that i like filet of fish sammiches and they are usually cheaper during lent. maybe i should have been born jewish?
