    Medi-share anyone?

Just got a notice of another price increase in our health insurance. Looking at Medi-Share. Anyone use it? If so are you happy?

    Thanks,

    Rob

I am looking to retire in 2 years and have looked at this for some time. I'm convinced this how I'm going.

Having a hard time finding someone who has it. The reviews are good. My wife in a cancer survivor I need to be sure she’s cover (no cancer last 5 years) if so I’m going to try them. Worst that can happen is I have to go back to insurance during open enrollment. I’ll have Medicare in few years but she’s younger.

I don't believe they have pre-existing issues. You simply agree to pay into someones account for their procedures.

          Their info says:
Medical bills for treatment of a pre-existing condition (a condition that existed prior to membership) are eligible for sharing as follows:
Up to $100,000 per Member per calendar year IF:
The condition has gone 36 consecutive months without signs, symptoms, treatment or medication.

The wife still takes medication that is intended to prevent any re-occurrence and still sees the doctor several times a year. No cancer has returned but she is still under the same doctors care.

My brother is self-employed. He has this coverage for himself, wife and child. He absolutely loves it. He has had some health issues lately - lots of tests. Very pleased with his coverage.

My step-daughter and her family use it. They've been happy with it although they haven't had any major health issues.

I'm very glad to hear about your wife's healing Rob. If you don't mind, I'll pray for her.

Thank you, I don’t mine at all. I’ll be updating this thread after I call Medi-Share.

An update if anyone is interested. If you have had cancer and have not had a reoccurrence in 3 years, and are NOT seeing your doctor more than once a year and NOT taking drugs related to said cancer then they will cover a new case of the same cancer if it occurs. While my wife had had no cancer in the last 5 years she still sees her doctor every 6 months and takes an estrogen blocker which also excludes her from being covered under existing conditions. They would cover other types of cancer and if she was a member for 3 years without the same cancer they would cover up to $100,000 after that 3 years.

The wife had breast cancer and they took one breast. If they had taken both I expect it would be safe for us to use Medi-Share since not I think it's a huge gamble for us. I may drop me from Blue Cross and go with Medi-Share.
                    Sorry for the long post.

                    Rob
