if someone has faith that there is a god, a creator, or whatever they want to call it, then that's fine. everyone is entitled to their own beliefs.

personally i believe that as we advance scientifically, it will be proven that our current universe was created/evolved from some other form of universe vs. being created by an eternal, all powerful being.

truth be told, in our lifetimes we will never know exactly how the universe came to be. even if we figure out how our current universe was formed, that will result in more questions like how the thing that formed the universe was formed. one could always say that an "eternal being" did it, but "science" would be just as fair, and more probable, of an answer

You're saying these things factually. Stop it.. How do you know the universe didn't always exist? It's the Big Bang THEORY. We don't know the history of the universe factually. How do you know that the big bang didn't actually happen, but before that it was all the matter in the universe compressed into a small space? How do you know it's not cyclical?

Doheny has it right. Faith can justify the belief in god. But at this point, science does not even come close to justifying proof of god.

You're misunderstanding the sources. Post 104 for example. Those quotes do nothing to prove all the matter in the universe was instantly created. And those are also THEORIES. Hence their use of "theorized" and "suggested that".

The discussion in post 108 is based off what we currently know and can therefore attempt to extrapolate the conclusion that it had a beginning. But, to assume that what we know at this point is the end all be all is a pretty bold and arrogant move.
