Miracles are for witnesses and believers.

What God provides everyday is a miracle to a humble man, is discounted by the skeptic, and even taken credit for by the non-believer.

We hold technology up as proof of man's power but what good did computers, cars, cell phones, or the internet do for Ebola patients fighting for their lives surrounded by the dead and dying?

In that place they must've recognized the volunteers who delivered care, water and even human touch as proof of God's presence. Surviving was a miracle.

We're all one random solar flare away from the Middle Ages and rediscovering our true relationship with God.

Funny, my SO's atheist oncologist, said the my SO's uncurable cancer was a miracle when it went into remission. Why would an atheist call this a miracle?
OF course being the good Christian that I am, used this as a stepping stone to reach the lost doctor. He is sold on his unbelief, but hopefully it planted a seed, and yet he still claimed my SO's healing a modern miracle with his 30+ years in the field of nuclear medicine and oncology

If I saw it with my own eyes, in person, I'd believe it was a miracle. If I see it on Youtube, I'll pass it off as a reality tv stunt.

I know He works miracles. He freed me from booze and gave me my Savior !!! Almost 40 years as an alcoholic and He purified me in a moment!!! Not a single drink or desire for booze since that night.

                Miracles happen today.

I have a friend who used to run a small missionary ship in the Philippines. They would take medical supplies, and preach the gospel to many of the small remote islands.

One time he sent his ship ahead, with a crew of four aboard to await his arrival at a small island. He was going to fly into a larger island and take a small boat to meet them, as he had business to attend to.

A typhoon struck while the ship was on its way, and it got so bad that the crew abandoned ship several hundred miles from their destination. They were rescued after the storm subsided.

My friend thought that the ship was lost at sea, but decided to go to the small island anyway, bringing with him what limited supplies he could aboard the small boat.

When his small boat came around the island to where they were going to hold the meetings and preach, there was his ship. 100% intact, and lightly grounded on a soft sandbar just offshore.

My friend went from being the Philippines #1 most wanted at age 16, a convicted murderer/Manila gang member, to being a preacher/missionary, to a prominent member of the Philippine Government.

If you haven't seen it with your own eyes,
or heard it with your own ears,
don't make it up with your small mind,
or spread it with your big mouth.

If someone raised someone else from the dead, or gave sight to the blind, or made the lame walk, or walked on water, or fed more than 5,000 with five loaves.... would it not be equally as miraculous today as it was when Christ and the apostles did so?

Human nature hasn't changed. Technology has progressed, but people are the same. Consider the prophetic passages I posted previously: there will be MANY folks who will be deceived by the demonic miracles that they discuss.
Sorry, I been traveling a lot and never had time to respond to this thread even though I started it.

What I meant is that because this generation thinks their much more knowledgeable than the people of the Apostles days, even church go'ers may call "BS" on a real miracle. I heard Hank Hannagraff(sp?) said a few years back that miracles create false hope. I don't remember exactly what he said but it was something along that line. So then, if it does create false hope, what do we believe in? This is why I said that because of the materials we have today, the OT and the NT, we will have more to use against an Apostle and even Jesus Christ himself if he walked on earth today.

While I believe the miracles happened as described in scripture, I don't believe they happen today, so I would guess, "hoax."

                      Regarding the 2nd Amendment:
"...to disarm the people ― that was the best and most effectual way to enslave them." George Mason ("The Father of the Bill of Rights")

                      Regarding Life and Death:
"Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." Matthew 10:28

The BIG question: "What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ?" Matthew 27:22b

I want so badly to believe miracles can still happen today. Modern medicine hasn't worked so far.

My son and best friend has stage 4 pancreatic cancer and fights every day to maintain a normal life for his wife and daughter.
I have to question why God would allow a 23 year old man to go through the hell of Chemo, weekly radiation and daily sickness that follows.

Our family prays daily for a miracle, but so far it has fallen on deaf ears.
