I agree it is very serious, and frankly I am terrified at the thought of my son starting driving. The reality is EVERYONE makes mistakes while driving. The reality is a stern warning from an officer is enough to have a major impact on most violators, especially a youngster.
I am sorry to see that you pull over with intent to cite instead of the opposite. I am not a LEO so my perspective is from the receiving end of the ticket book.
ETA: Really at this point my question has been answered and this thread does not need to continue. From here it has the potential to develop into something I do not want and did not intend. I thank you all for your input and perspective. As always, I appreciate your views.
