I worked with Adults for about a year and I've worked in Juvs for about another year.

We are a small department so we end up working each other caseloads and doing field operations together so I still contact adults all the time. (Plus most of the kids on probation have parents who are also on probation/parole)

I volunteered through a local organization called the [insert county name] Veteran's Stand Down Association. I don't know if they are directly tied in with the VA or not but they always have VA reps, medical workers, barbers, dental techs, food, and surplus gear (boots, blankets, packs, tents). I've always volunteered as a private citizen. It's something I've done since before becoming an LEO.

He wasn't shouting for help. I can hear the person in the car shouting now, "COME BACK WITH A WARRANT!!!!! THE ACLU SAYS NEVER TALK TO THE POLICE, CALL MY LAWYER!!!!"

In all seriousness; traffic collisions have made up a large portion of the blood, guts, and heartbreaks I have had to deal with at work. Glad that one turned out okay.

That pic would make a wonderful "AM I BEING DETAINED?!" meme.
