    Another bad experience with Proforce

Ive heard it time and time again that Profirce stores have the worst customer service and ive finally experienced it. I prefer to give people the opportunity to prove themselves to me and boy did proforce live up to their bad reputation!!

To make thing short, Spoke to three different individuals over the phone regarding the purchase of some guns who all gave me the same answer. Took the hour long drive on a day off only to be given a different answer upon arrival. Was given a different alternative that day to qualify for the purchase. Paid, waited the ten days, made the hour drive again only to be told the information given to me was wrong and I cannot have my guns.

No laws were being broken, nor was I asking them to bend the rules. Its very apparent that the guys/store dont know what theyre doing, nor do they care about their customer service.

    NO MORE PROFORCE for me!!

My experience with Proforce has been generally good. However duing the panic, the lines got out of control and wrapped around through the aisles. I went there to pick up my DROS'd weapons and had to wait in line behind a dozen tire kickers with lots of questions.

What specifically did they do wrong by you? Your post is vague and we'd like to know exactly what they did (since you brought it up) to you to warrant this post. I'd hate to fall victim myself to whatever it is you apparently say they did (or didn't do) to you. Details, gotta have more details.

No, I don't work for nor do I have ANY financial interest with ProForce. I just buy guys from them IF ...their price can't be beat at the time.

Since your inquiring minds are asking ill elaborate, I just didnt want to bore you guys with my ranting and raving. So here the story:
I have my FFL and buy many guns for the Officers and family members in our department and neighboring ones. I usually use my distributors, but since Proforce was the only store with Glock 42's at the time I decided to pick up a few. We just had half a dozen recruits exit the academy who were also asking for back up weapons. Total of eight guns.

Now being that Proforce is not a "Wholesaler" I called in advance to ask if it would be ok to pick up a few guns for myself and a few for the guys at work. My FFL documents are in order and I explained I would conduct business in a totally legal manner. Two more calls were made regarding the same senario prior to me making the drive. In each of the calls, I was informed by three seperate employees that I would be sold the guns as an FFL to FFL transfer and I needed to have my documents upon purchase, which I did.
I arrive on the day to purchase and was told I would not be able to purchase the guns as an FFL.

I explain my situation to the employee/manager who decide to agree to sell me the guns, but they would all need to be DROS'D to me and I would have to wait the 10 days. I agreed with their terms, made the payment and left for the 10 day wait.

10 days later, I go to pick up the guns and am told they cannot release the guns to me because they think im giving the guns to other individuals. Based on the above story, It is very clear that Im buying for myself as well as others in my department. A talk with the manager only left me fuming as he acted like I was a kid who didnt know what I was talking about. He refused to hear me out (I was very calm) and just brushed me off.

I eventually left with no guns and a very bad taste in my mouth for this store that Ive heard so many bad things about. Guess the hype is true.

Been there a few times bought a couple of guns from them. I couldnt find anyone that would beat their prices. The guys ive interacted with there were alright. I've had a few of my buddies go down there and try to buy off roster guns. After filling out the paper work they're told they cant purchase (non leo). Both times they phoned in prior to stepping inside the store and were assured they could purchase only to leave empty handed.

This is a situation I can understand. I on the other hand am full time sworn with an FFL buying on roster guns. There shouldn't have been any question.

I can beat Proforce on nearly every gun they carry. Let me know when your ready!

ProForce is owned by Davidsons in Prescott, for what it is worth.

I have purchased many guns, sometimes more than one at a time, from Proforce without an issue, except the wait and process took very long.

I wonder if the OP had the department letter for purchase. I thought it may have solved the issue. I don't know the detailed process of that kind of purchase, so I am just speculating.

You can checkout Allstate Police Equipment in La Verne, sometimes they have a attitude, but less people. Most of the time, they beat Proforce prices.

You're going to stop using one of the best distributors in the nation because you had a problem with a subsidiary of theirs? That's equal to saying you won't buy Nabisco products because you bought a box of broken cookies from WalMart. That's ok though, and one of the greatest things about being an American is we can run our businesses any way we wish. That will mean there will be more guns available for those of us dealers who do use Davidson's as an option for a distributor.

Your definitely right about this. My Davidsons rep is probably the hardest working guy I have and it wouldn't be fair to him as well. I unfortunately let my temper get the best of me and was making irrational statements. Davidsons has been good to me and I will continue to keep them running to afford my customers better selection and pricing.

Thanks for the attitude check, it was needed!!
