Streamlight offers a 1 yr warrenty on their rechargeable batteries..... Back up light I would go with Streamlight Protac HL, 600 lumens runs off two 123 batteries and has a programmable tail cap to add or eliminate power cycle settings (high, strobe, low)

As much as I love to 'buy American', the Fenix lights are better than any small Surefire light I've owned, brighter, and a lot cheaper.

Strion HL, Stinger HL, E2D LED, 6P surefire series.... all great lights. Fenix are cheap but I have seen them fail way to many times in the field for me to rely on one.

We've got a bunch of the PD-35's on my shift - 10 plus. No failures yet.

            You've seen a PD-35 fail?

I tried one of the Fenix lights, after two shifts the selector button broke. These lights have a bad rep on the street. Cheap Chinese junk. Went back to my Surefire. You get what you pay for.

Our PD has the big Pelican lights for duty which are awesome. I carry a 6P on my Sam Browne as a backup as well as a X300 weapon light on my G21.

                        Maglite XL-50
                        Cheap: $25 retail
                        Sturdy: Aircraft aluminum
                        Bright: 104 lumens
                        Lasts: 8.4 hours

I've run them over, I've dropped them off the third story, I've left them on all day, and I used one to hammer a finishing nail back in once.

Again - PD-35? Fenix not "Ultra Fire" lights, right?

They have a great rep with PD here and with Mountain Rescue guys.

Me, I got tired of buying Surefire bulbs...

Surefire is great, but I don't like paying two prices for tools.

PT2L. They're on sale right now at PSA. Uses two 123 batteries, which are less than a buck a piece. Very bright, has strobe, has low setting. Small, easy to use, tough.

I have a Fenix PD35 and LD22. They're excellent lights. I use a Streamlight Stinger as my primary and my LD22 as my backup. My LD22 has been going strong for about a year now. It's a stout little light.
