That said, I would be happy to talk to the authorities and answer any basic questions about who is on the premises and who I am.

But I also wouldn't be cowering in my home. I would be going about my business. If it was lawn mowing day, that's what I would be doing, car wash day, that's what I would be doing. I refuse to let the possibility that one scumbag might be in my area keep me from my normal routine. Sorry if that doesn't fit into the neighborhood security aspect of the situation.

One mans despicable actions in a public place keeps tens of thousands of people cowering in there homes like cockroaches scurrying under the fridge when the lights come on. That is what the terrorists want, to bring everything and everyone to a halt. And the politicians want the same thing, so we get in the habit of letting one person or a few control the actions of many.

To my LEO friends, I have no problems with you, and I like that you are doing your job trying to protect the people. Thank you for doing a difficult, frequently thankless job.

No you may not search my home.
A lot of that made sense...I'm not a LEO, but, I am a homeowner, and, while I could totally understand the urgency in wanting to capture a suspect, I would be happy to answer any LE questions, AT THE DOOR...anything else would not be met with my approval

If that makes me a suspicious person or "the one guy who won't cooperate" so be it...I'm content in believing I can take care of my own home, I've done so for the last 24 years, without LEO assistance, and, I'm sure that suspect would not be the first BG to be in my area...if, I'm wrong, I guess I'll find out soon enough

So, in an effort in speeding up the hunt, I'll let you LE guys move on to the next home, I'll be happy to absolve you from any liability in the event the BG gets the best of me

Ahh, almost forgot the topic of the thread...lol...as far as being armed while LEO come knocking, I don't usually carry just walking around my home, so it probably wouldn't be an issue

Perhaps a clarification is in order.

There are different ways to approach this and not let us in and be just fine, which I have already stated in other posts. Just be cool and act normally and we'll be on our way. At most, I might ask if you can slip your ID through the crack of the door, I'll see your name and address and verify you live there and give it back through the crack and I'm gone. That will be the extent of my jackbootery stomping on your beloved civil rights. Or is that still too much for some here?

If we knock and the first thing you yell out is, "I'm armed, you got a warrant? PIG?" Well, that's a little different and we might react differently than the scenario above.

That's all. What's so hard to understand?

Oh, while I have no doubt people can take care of themselves, and most people do, as they can go all their lives without calling the cops once to their house for any needs, but that one time they need something, and they call, see how fast they blow their tops if we are not there within 30 seconds and do everything they say because they pay our salaries.

There will be a number of members who will be taking a well needed vacation from the leo forum.

And with that announcement, this thread is done.
