For duty, P226. Off duty G27

I never switch off on my duty weapon. I was taught that in the academy and have been doing it ever since.

              1. Glock
              2. Beretta
              3. Sig
              4. Kimber

You can't go wrong with any of them, I think Glock make about the best of the bunch as far as dependability and ruggedness.

My personal choice would a Beretta 92A1 though in 9mm. I don't need gun that can go 10,000 rounds without cleaning, I appreciate the light weight of the Glock, but I'll take the slight accuracy advantage of the 92A1 and the for regular police work. The Kimber (1911) is an entirely different animal, you get the 45 hit, and less rounds, but in a S/A only platform, many pluses and minuses on that one, I'd take pick that for SWAT duty though. But I'll take accuracy over less bigger bullets.

Sigs and Kimbers are really nice as well, but for more money and you don't get a "finer" just one that is more expensive, as far as I'm concerned.

Remember the bids go to the best price

                Greetings,

As most Offciers can tell you price, extras mags, tools and the desire of the command staff have the final say in duty weapons. I have heard both Sig and Glock sell their guns at a very reasonable cost to departments.

                    On Duty: S&W M&P 9 Full size
                    Beretta 92FS

                    Off Duty: S&W M&P 9 Compact
                    S&W 442(2" J frame)

I think the predominant guns are, in no particular order: Glock, Beretta, Sig Sauer, Smith & Wesson, H&K

Glock 9/40/45 in various sizes for various assignments.

One Glock does not fit all.
