I think 5 years since the last usage of Marijuana (depending on the severity of how many times and the totality of the circumstances) should be enough time. Anything else other than Marijuana should be an auto DQ.

^----Keep in mind this is just my OPINION.

I was told by CBP/Border Patrol that they wanted a three year minimum gap for Marijuana and all others are DQ, yet have heard of them DQ'ing people with 5-10+ years since the last usage. This seems to be the consensus for most departments I've come across.

Job market is tough. Competing with guys/gals with Masters Degrees and no flaws in their backgrounds makes for an easy choice of which applicant to choose.

      Depends on:
      - the agency (standards vary)
      - the drug/s (some drugs = automatic DQ)
      - the amount / frequency of use
      - the time elapsed since last use
