You can't go wrong with CoCo academy. Along with ALCO they produce a much different kind of graduate. Nothing against the other academies, but I have worked with officer's from other ones, if you don't go in there with the warrior mentality it isn't likely they will instill one in you.

Everyone who posted before is correct. Jails aren't safe. I am not envious of the deputies. Yeah they get to stay inside when its cold and rainy.....but they are trapped with the criminals patrol brings into them. I know I couldn't handle it.

Hit me up when it gets closer to your academy start date. I graduated CoCo a few years back and was top of my class. I would love to point you in the right direction....haha, but I won't be giving up too much of the mind games they will be playing on you.

Of course amigo. CoCo is very much focused on PT. As one of the earlier posters pointed out though, they have declined on the yelling and stress inducing mind games. I saw that change around class 167 I think. It's all circular though. Haha, they probably ramped the intensity right back up. Love that academy. Great instructors especially the Pittsburg PD guys. They want you to learn because they want you to survive. It's not just an extra assignment for them. I could go on and on.

I hope you get the chance to share my enthusiasm about your academy experience.

It's a tough lesson in patience. All we can do is hope it all pays off for an amazing life change.

Did you go through the psych and medical?

Quick update, got the "conditional job offer" and have been moved to schedule the psych and medical exams.
They did not however let me know the dress for either appointment.

Business casual? Or suit? Can anyone advise. Cheers!
