I ride a motorcycle, so I may have the opposite view of many on here. I've been hit in the face with lit cigarette butts and it is no fun.

If it's good enough to stick in your mouth, it's good enough to hang around in your car with you for awhile.

Please don't throw your butts out the window.

Echoing this for emphasis. Those of us who ride tend to get angry when people throw things out the window. If it actually hits someone it's a safety issue for the rider and the litterbug.

Personally, I'm not a fan when someone's unextinguished butt comes in through my window and showers me with embers.

It's really hard to enjoy my own cig while small bits of flesh are being seared.

There are lot of idiots that throw cigs out the window . I wish they would all get caught and given the maximum fine. Don't get me started on the cell phones.

Why cell phone use is just a ticket and not points agaisnt your record is beyond me. Its just as dangerous or worse as drunk driving and it gets a free pass. Texting is even more dangerous as you can't text and watch the road.

Throwing cigarettes out the window in SoCal deserves a fine of at least $1,000.00..its a tinder box out there.

That said, I hope she gets some slack as it was her birthday and I bet she learned her lesson.

I agree with all of you. I blew a gasket when she told me. The crappy thing here is she ain't paying for it, I am. I'm the only income in the house. If she worked had money, I would want her to pay the Max, that's one of my pet peeves. I know the first offense has a mandatory 8hrs of community service. U guys think she can do more hrs of picking up trash instead of a fine. Because I don't want to get pentilized for her screw up.

Smokers toss cigarette butts on the streets and sidewalks because they do not care and they're so used to doing it (and resent anybody telling them otherwise).

And I bet she will continue tossing her cigarette butts out of the car. She'll just look around for cops before doing so.

They changed "chicken feathers" to "feathers from live birds." So now a poultry truck going down the road will always have ONE chicken in it to account for the "live bird" part of the law.
