Are the issued socks expendable? That is, do they want them back?

If they don't expect them back, how about cutting off the toes of the issued ones, and wearing them over the socks you brought that actually fit. I see from the website that students are expected to bring their own athletic shoes.

But I'm bemused on how 'white socks' can be so different that one pair can be identified as non-uniform.

have money... lots,,,but we cant buy our own. I dont have a mom to cry to she's dead. I got a 38k separation pay, work and earn 80k without overtime, receive 1500 from the GI bill and 650 from disability..I can buy all the socks I want but wont be allowed to wear it due to policy.

I have tailored uniforms that I brought with me as well but we are only allowed to use the ones the facility issues...

I can tell you this..... Your problem is that you think your scheet don't stink. Your not gonna go far buddy in the .gov

You'll be weeded out rather quickly..... Don't unpack just yet.

I was going to post this a couple days ago but didn't. I was going to ask the OP if this was a joke but I sadly see it wasn't. Simply amazed at the mentality/attitudes of people these days.

My advise to the OP....be thankful you have a job and stuff your ego into your pocket.
