Fix-it ticket for no front plate?

About 2 months ago, I got a citation for not having a front license plate on my car. I've since then screwed the front plate into my bumper (my car didn't have a holder on the front bumper)

But as is always the case, I've not seen one police officer since then. Now the due date is 2 days from now and I'm running out of time to get this thing signed off on. I'm in S. San Jose...where can I go to get this taken care of?

I hear there are buildings... usually at least one in every city... where cops just hang around all the time.

I think they're pronounced "pah-lece stations", or something... my spelling may be off.

Just go to the court guys wand have them sign off the ticket and pay $10 bucks or if there is a fine which should only be $20-$40. Either way gtg.

try Sheriff substation at Hwy 9 in Saratoga. Take pic of lic.

plate on car including today's newspaper....like a kidnapping ransome "kid is still alive" photo. LOL.

But seriously, Saratoga sub station will probably be less crappy as they are used to dealing with rich folks with political clout....and they probably could pop out to actually see car in needed.

Didn't know if it was kosher to just show up at a police station and ask for someone to sign off on a fix-it ticket.

CHP also can do it for you.

Step outside and fire off a dozen rounds. When the cops show up, tell 'em "he went thattaway, but while you're here, can you sign off my ticket"?

Yup. Walk in with your ticket, they'll sign it off. They do it all day long. Some PDs/SOs will charge you a fee to sign a ticket off, CHP doesn't.

                        Good luck.

I think the DMW can clear those, but I'm not 100% sure?

PD stations should be pretty easy to find just in about any City, at least they're suppose to be, as I don't recall any of them being hidden.

Some police agencies do not sign off equipment fix-it tickets. You should call ahead and ask.

There may be a station at the court house which can verify that you have completed the equipment fix. The address of the court house should be on the marked section of where to "appear on or before" your due date.

As for the Saratoga sub-station, the last time I knew the Santa Clara County Sheriff ran that station on a limited basis. They closed the station for activities during off-hours and ran deputies from vehicles only during certain times.

Call ahead to your local station and ask. If they say they can't, its due to their department policy.

Glad you listed your location. There is Police sub Station right in your neighborhood on the west end of Oakridge Mall (aka Westfield) at 947 Blossom Hill Rd.
