Last I saw it passed the house back on the 14th of May, and passed on to the senate. Nearly ever Ca dem rep voted no, not that will surprise anyone.

I'm doing this from memory so it may not be 100% accurate. There also may have been some changes since I last read it.
It adds magazines to negate state mag bans.
It also would allow carry in school zones outside of one's home state, National Parks and federal facilities open to the public including post offices.
There may be a few others but those are the big ones I recall off the top of my head. I'll try to pull up the current text of the bill tomorrow, as it sits now and see if there were changes.

Qualification every 3 years, instead of yearly. That saves the testing agencies a lot of money.

I assume the bill died in the Senate?

I don't think it's dead, as much as stalled, with all the other crap they are dealing with. It still shows as active.

                  Summary: H.R.2243 — 119th Congress (2025-2026)

There is one summary for H.R.2243. Bill summaries are authored by CRS. Shown Here:
                  Introduced in House (03/21/2025)

                  LEOSA Reform Act of 2025

This bill broadens the authority for certain law enforcement officers to carry concealed firearms across state lines.

Specifically, the bill allows qualified active and retired law enforcement officers to carry concealed firearms and ammunition (including magazines) in school zones; in national parks; on state, local, or private property that is open to the public; and in certain federal facilities that are open to the public.

Further, the bill permits states to reduce the frequency with which retired law enforcement officers must meet certain qualification standards.

Now that the smoke has cleared, will the LEOSA update finally pass? I thought it was bipartisan.
