Question for you LASD guys (past and present)

Good luck with your quest to become a LASD dep. They sure aren't speeding things up to hire these days. I know a cadet at another PD that has been in the LASD hiring process for months. Already has his bachelors degree and is fluent in Spanish. Took me six months to get hired back in the day. Did 28 years with LASD. Have spent last 11 years as a fulltime non-sworn crime scene investigator for a smaller SOCA P.D. Getting ready to call it a day for the law enforcement bizz.

Good luck brother. I retired once and couldn't stay on the bench. The bench is looking good 11 years later. March 12, 2013 will be 40 years in the bizz. Gotta be freaking crazy, I know.

Almost 8 months later, still have not got assigned a BI for deputy sheriff recruit...Any advice from you LASD folks?

If you haven't contacted anyone recently, IMO, wouldn't hurt to call them and explain that it's been 8 months without contact or a BI and you were wondering if you were still in the process, that you're still interested, and if they needed anything else from you...
