Good Luck I just applied to SD Harbor Police which is my #1 department right now; if I don't get in SDPD and Sheriff's are next.
    Good Luck again!

I got two buddies there and they like the place, but the turnover has been bad lately with the County hitting the employees a lot in the pocketbook with the 9% PERS contributions, medical contributions and furlough days.

Great agency nonetheless, regardless of the County, but beware of the impact of those considerations such as increased time in Custody duty instead of patrol or constant shortages of manpower. Yes, when you are trying to get on, none of this stuff matters, but you will care soon enough.

How long did it take you from time of application, and then to sign up to written test and thenl now?
None of my posts are serious or real, nothing I post is legal advice.

Your process is moving along quickly, which is not unusual if they want you. Sounds like they really want you, and bar any undisclosed skeletons in the closet you didn't tell your BI Investigator, you should make the upcoming class in May. The only bad news I am am going to tell you that the RSO Academy, just like San Bernardino's, is going to suck in May and the summer months! Those long runs through the desert are quite unpleasant.

Good luck Bojack! I know what I told you about RSO, but they must really like you. You are flying through the hiring process faster than usual.

I am moving to Riverside County next month from the beautiful Central Coast. I have been doing a lot of online reading about the area. I read a recent Press Enterprise article stating the Sheriff has less than (point) .9 deputy per 1,000 population in the unincorporated areas. Almost half of my current area of 1.6 LEO's per 1,000 population with very little violent crime. Moving to French Valley, seems safer than other areas. However, online crime reports indicate it is significantly more criminally active than the area I am leaving.

I have been very supportive of my home town cops and helped sway the city council into giving them a raise before the economic meltdown. (Still the lowest paid in the county) I don't know anything about the Riverside Sheriffs Department. I am used to very quick LEO response with outstanding service. I hope the Sheriff department is just as good.

                                Good Luck BoJack
